Split PDF files

Take a PDF apart: save every page as its own file, extract one or more page ranges, pick individual pages, or split the document every few pages. You can preview the result before anything is created, and the processing happens on your device.

How to use Split PDF

  1. Select a PDF file or drag it into the box.
  2. Choose how to split: every page, custom ranges, selected pages, or fixed intervals.
  3. Check the preview, which lists every file that will be created.
  4. Select "Split PDF", then download single files or everything as a ZIP archive.

Good to know: limitations

  • Bookmarks/outline are not copied into the extracted files.
  • Links to pages that are not part of an extracted file stop working.
  • Interactive form fields may become non-editable.
  • Page previews are approximate. Uncommon fonts or image formats may look different in the preview, but not in the output.
  • Very large PDFs may exceed the memory available on phones.

Frequently asked questions

Are my files uploaded?

No. The PDF is read and processed by JavaScript running in your browser. Your files are not sent to our servers. The page itself, and the ads on it, are loaded from the internet as on any website.

Is it free?

Yes. There is no sign-up, no watermark and no daily limit. The site is financed by advertising.

How do I write page ranges?

Separate ranges with commas. "1-3" is pages 1 to 3, "5" is page 5 and "8-" is page 8 to the end. For example: 1-3, 5, 8-.

Can I split a password-protected PDF?

Yes, if you know the password. It is only used on your device to open the file. The resulting files are not password protected.

Why do I get a ZIP file?

When the split creates several files, you can download them one by one or all together as a ZIP archive. The PDFs inside the ZIP are not recompressed.
