Sign this document
Create your signature, then click one of the marked places or anywhere on a page. You can move and resize it, and place it on more pages.
This adds a visible signature (a picture of your signature or typed name). It is not a digital (cryptographic) signature: it does not prove who signed or show later changes, and whether it is legally sufficient depends on your situation.
Recognise text in scanned pages
Scanned pages are pictures of text. Text recognition (OCR) finds the words so they can be searched, copied and changed. It runs on your device and can make mistakes, so please check the recognised text.

How to use Sign PDF
- Select a PDF file or drag it into the box.
- Choose "Create signature" and draw, type or upload it.
- Click one of the marked places (such as a "Signature:" line) or anywhere on a page. Move and resize it, and add it to more pages if needed.
- Select "Preview changes" to check, then "Save edited PDF". Your original file is not changed.
Good to know: limitations
- Visible signatures only; digital signatures (certificates) are not created. If the PDF already has a digital signature, adding anything makes that signature invalid; you are warned first.
- Signature form fields are not filled as digital signatures; the picture is placed on top of the field.
- Suggested places are found from words such as "Signature" or "Sign here" and lines next to them. Check the suggestion; nothing is placed without your click.
- Typed signatures use handwriting fonts for Latin letters; other scripts use a matching Noto font.
Frequently asked questions
Is this a legally valid electronic signature?
This tool adds a visible signature: a picture of your handwritten signature or your typed name, like signing a printout. It is not a digital (cryptographic) signature, so it does not prove who signed or reveal later changes. Many everyday documents accept it, but whether it is sufficient depends on the document, the other party and the law that applies. For contracts that require a qualified electronic signature, use a certified service.
Is my signature uploaded or stored?
No. Your signature and your PDF are processed on your device and never sent to a server. A signature is only remembered if you tick "Remember this signature on this device"; it is then stored in this browser only, and you can delete it at any time.
Can I sign on an iPad or phone?
Yes. The drawing area works with a finger, Apple Pencil and other pens, and uses pen pressure when available. The page does not scroll while you draw in the signature area; it scrolls normally everywhere else.
Can I use a photo of my signature?
Yes. Crop and rotate it, then optionally remove the paper background. You see the original and the result side by side and can adjust the strength; light-coloured ink is kept. The original photo is never replaced unless you accept the result.
Is it free?
Yes. There is no sign-up, no watermark and no daily limit. The site is financed by advertising.
